First Trials in Webocracy

چکیده

The Webocracy project aims to empower citizens with innovative communication, access and polling system, supporting increased participation in democratic processes. One of the main project goals is to develop an open source web-based system called WEBOCRAT as a multi-channel communication platform supporting egovernment and e-democracy applications. Some of the WEBOCRAT modules are already available and are being tested in two pilot applications. This contribution deals mainly with detailed description of the first pilot applications, which have been performed in the period of May – July 2002. There is one trial running in Wolverhampton, UK and two other ones in Kosice, Slovakia.
